Relationship between Awareness of Consumption Rationalization and Quality of Life among Students’ Families of the Technical Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Alexandria and Cairo governorate (a comparative study)

Abstract

This research mainly aims to study the relationship between awareness of consumption rationalization and quality of life among research sample (students and their mothers). Research followed descriptive analytical approach, data were collected by personal interview using two questionnaire forms . study was conducted on A simple random sample of 266 (student / mother) from the Technical Institute for Tourism and Hotels in Alexandria and Cairo. The data were analyzed statistically using  Percentages, mean , standard deviation, T- test, Pearson's simple correlation coefficient and the multiple regression function using the computer program Statistical Package For Social Sciences (SPSS V.22).
The Students’ results revealed that:-          
- The degree of awareness of consumption rationalization for more than three- quarters of the participants ( 75.2% ) was moderate .
 - Quality of life, level was moderate among 68.8% of participants.
- There are no statistically significant differences between the average scores of Cairo and Alexandria students for any of the variables under study. Not significant.
- There are statistically significant differences between degree average of students' awareness of consumption rationalization and both of : study group (for second group), and training courses participation (for participants) at (p < 0.01) .
-There was a significant positive correlation between degree of students' awareness of consumption rationalization and both of : training courses participation , Quality of life level , and degree of mothers' awareness of consumption rationalization at (p < 0.01) .
- The results showed that training courses participation , and degree of mothers' awareness of consumption rationalization affected degree of students' awareness of consumption rationalization 8% at (p < 0.01) .
The Mothers’ results revealed that:-
- The degree of awareness of consumption rationalization was moderate among 63.9% of participants .
 - Quality of life, level was moderate among 69.5% of participants.
- There are statistically significant differences between degree average of mothers’ awareness of consumption rationalization and both of : father’s work , mothers’ education level , monthly payment for electricity,water,gas and internet at (p < 0.01) .
-There was a significant positive correlation between degree of mothers’ awareness of consumption rationalization and both of : level of information exposure, level of income management ,and level of qualiiity of life at (p < 0.01) , and family income,and  participation in family expenses at (p < 0.05) .
- The results showed that duration of marital life , family size, level of information exposure , family income, level of income management ,and level of qualiiity of life affected degree of mothers' awareness of consumption rationalization 55% at (p < 0.01) .
